HOW WE DO YOUNG LIFE
The 5 C’s of Young Life
Young Life began with a few simple ideas for sharing God’s love with teenagers. More than seven decades later, these ideas continue to shape how we build relationships with middle school, high school, and college students.
CONTACT WORK
CARING FOR KIDS
Young Life leaders believe that relationships come first. They show they care by going where kids are, meeting them where they’re at, and getting to know them as friends.
We call this Contact Work—the intentional time leaders spend in the everyday spaces where kids live, learn, and spend time. For kids, though, it simply feels like friendship.
What makes Young Life Club such a highlight of the week for so many kids? We like to think of it as a party with a purpose! Club is full of fun, laughter, games, music, and a little bit of organized chaos. It’s a place where kids can be themselves, build friendships, and have a great time. Each Club also includes a simple message about God’s love and who Jesus is.
CLUB
A PARTY WITH A PURPOSE
Campaigners is a weekly gathering for kids who want to learn more about Jesus and grow in their faith. Through Bible study, service, and leadership opportunities, students are encouraged to explore what it means to follow Jesus and live out their faith. Young Life leaders also encourage students to connect with and participate in a local church community.
CAMPAIGNERS
A TIME TO LEARN AND GROW
Kids consistently tell us that Young Life camp is one of the best weeks of their lives—and we think that’s a pretty great endorsement! It’s a week filled with incredible fun, meaningful friendships, and opportunities to hear about the greatest love story ever told.
In the Coastal Region, we head to RockRidge Canyon for camp in both the summer and winter. Each summer, we host Summer Camp, and every other year, we celebrate the New Year together at New Year’s Camp.
CAMP
THE BEST WEEK OF THEIR LIVES
Young Life is making a difference in the lives of kids around the world because of the many adults who care about young people in their communities. Behind every Young Life staff person is a team of dedicated volunteer leaders who spend time building relationships with kids.
In each community, a local committee made up of parents, Young Life alumni, and community leaders provides financial, administrative, and practical support to help the local Young Life team thrive.
